After a two-year break, the Radio & EMC symposium could finally be held again as a face-to-face event in January 2023. Initiated by Swiss BACOM and organised by swissT.net, SCHURTER used the industry meeting to present its own SPICE models for choke simulations to the attending expert audience at the SIX Convention Point in Zurich, Switzerland.
These models support electrical engineers in the design phase in finding the most suitable choke for the respective application. Because they can be used to precisely predict the behaviour of chokes, SPICE models enable more efficient developments of electrical circuits. The advantage of such model simulations is especially that fewer prototypes have to be built and tested, which saves time and money. In his presentation, Herbert Blum, Product Manager EMC, presented the simulation using a common-mode choke, comparing the simulation values of the SCHURTER model with the measured values of the real common-mode choke. It was shown that the model values were very close to the real values, which is not least proof that SCHURTER's choke simulation models are mature models.
