Awarded!

With the "IEC 1906 Award", the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) honours people who have made outstanding achievements in the technical or organisational field of a current standards project. Among the award winners this year was Jonas Bachmann, Head Engineering of SCHURTER AG.

The "IEC Award 1906" - named after the year in which the IEC was founded - honours achievements in connection with the IEC's activities which contribute significantly to the further development of the commissions' work. The award was established in 2004 by the IEC Executive Committee. The award has a high status, as only about 160 of the more than 20,000 standards experts working in the IEC are honoured annually.

This year's "IEC 1906 Award" was ceremonially presented on 19 November 2020 by the Swiss CES President Samuel Ansorge, assisted by CES Secretary Mario Schleider. Despite the COVID 19 pandemic, two of the four awardees found their way to Fehraltorf to the headquarters of the CES (Comité Électrotechnique Suisse), the national "mirror face" of the IEC.
