In modern electronic applications - especially in safety-critical areas such as ATEX-certified environments - the requirements for miniaturization, precision and thermal resistance are constantly increasing. The new USL 0603 low-current fuse has been specifically developed to meet these requirements.
An outstanding feature of the USL 0603 is the extended creepage distance of 1.1 mm (pad-to-pad). This means that it meets the requirements of IEC 60079-11 for 60 VDC applications in which a minimum creepage distance of 1 mm is required. This makes it one of the few fuses in the 0603 format that can be used without hesitation in ATEX applications - for example in the oil and gas industry, chemical processing or mining.
Quick Acting Characteristic
Thanks to its fast tripping time (tripping at 2.5 times the rated current in under 5 seconds), the USL 0603 offers precise protection for sensitive circuits. At the same time, its low voltage drop ensures minimal energy losses - an advantage that pays off not only in ATEX applications, but also in battery-operated designs.
Wide Operating Range
With an extended operating temperature range of up to 150 °C, the fuse is ideally suited for demanding thermal environments - from mobile medical diagnostic devices to industrial sensor applications.
Typical Applications
Ideal areas of application for the USL 0603 are ATEX-certified systems in which potential ignition sources must be avoided through reliable current limitation. The chip fuse is also highly suitable for medical devices, where precise tripping times and low power loss are crucial. There are also sensor applications in industry and consumer electronics, which are particularly sensitive to overcurrent.
