SCHURTER Electronics Romania increases production area

SCHURTER's Romanian subsidiary SCHURTER Electronics Romania is increasing its production area and capacity to meet future requirements.

Located in the near surrounding of Bucharest, SCHURTER Romania is the strategic production site for Solutions, EMS and EMC. With more than 20 years of experience and know-how in this field, we are prepared for future challenges.

SOLUTIONS is a fast growing area with diverse competences in the SCHURTER Group and enormous potential through synergies.

Third building

With the third building in Gruiu we generate 2'000 m2 of additional space and a suitable place for an efficient material storage and handling, the EMC production and offices. This will enable us to align EMS production in the existing buildings for the future and provide sufficient space for the upcoming growth.

Successfully on the way

SCHURTER Romania is the production plant for EMS, EMC and Solutions and works closely together with the competence center in Mendrisio and the Solutions department in Lucerne. The success and the shown potentials especially with Solutions motivate us to increase the capacities and to make correspondingly high investments in Romania.

Stages of construction activity

In a 1st stage, a bridging of the little creek that separates the two properties was built and a ramp to the existing building was constructed. On the 22nd of February of this year, the Board of Directors of Schurter Electronics Romania symbolically broke ground for the 2nd stage, the new building in Gruiu. At the end of March the first construction activities will be started and until the end of 2022 the new building with 2'000 m2 should be finished. In a 3rd stage, the two existing buildings will be completely renovated and handed over to the company at the end of 2023.
